Intracranial Abscess

An intracranial abscess is a pocket of infection within the brain. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is FDA-approved as an adjunct to surgery and antibiotics — especially for abscesses caused by anaerobic or mixed bacteria: raised tissue oxygen is hostile to these organisms, supports immune clearance, and reduces surrounding swelling.
