Enhancement of Healing in Selected Problem Wounds
Some chronic wounds — particularly diabetic foot ulcers — fail to heal because the surrounding tissue lacks oxygen. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is FDA-approved as an adjunct for selected problem wounds: it raises tissue oxygen, stimulates new blood vessels, and strengthens infection defence to restart stalled healing.
